A.K. Folsom writes vampire fiction for readers who crave more than the familiar. Fascinated with vampires since childhood, Folsom has spent decades exploring the folklore, history, and cultural myths behind the world’s most enduring creatures of the night. That lifelong curiosity blends with a background in technology and data to create stories that feel grounded, immersive, and unsettlingly real.
The idea for What Darkness Reveals came during a fever-driven series of dreams that refused to let go, unfolding night after night until they became the foundation for an entirely new take on vampire mythology. Since then, Folsom has focused on reimagining what vampires are, what they could be, and the hidden worlds they might inhabit. With the tagline “Every Shadow. Every Light. Vampires retold, reimagined,” Folsom is building a body of work that spans far beyond a single series, exploring the vampire genre from multiple angles, tones, and perspectives.
Raised in the Mojave Desert and now based in Sedona, Folsom draws inspiration from both stark landscapes and the mysteries that linger just beneath the surface of everyday life.
If you’re drawn to dark worlds, layered mythology, and stories where nothing is quite what it seems, you’re in the right place.

Beth Kingsley Hawkins, M. A., has written Hummy the Magnificent: How a Hummingbird Learned to Read. She feels that the love of books is one of the best ways to enlarge a child’s world. Her book can help a love of reading blossom!
As Executive Director Emerita of the International Hummingbird Society that she and her husband Dr. H. Ross Hawkins founded in 1996, she has travelled extensively to see and photograph these tiny gems. She perceives all 365 species and their amazing diversity as a direct expression of the Divine imagination.
Beth is one with the earth through her love and pursuit of nature photography, yet still dances with the stars as she embraces the way in which the hummingbird can connect us to Spirit. As a certified music therapist, her photographic ‘awakening’ was a natural outgrowth and expansion of her inner imagery work as she embraced the world of color and nature’s healing touch. She showcases her work at her Hummingbird Gallery and Spirit Center in the Village of Oak Creek, Sedona, featuring her spiritual images that capture and celebrate the beauty of our world.
With her background in the healing arts, Beth has a unique way of exploring both the inner and outer worlds with her camera. Indeed her first published image depicting Arizona’s slot canyons was called “Inner Landscape,” featured as the theme image for Common Boundary Conference on Inner and Outer Ecology in Washington, D.C.

The goal of my spiritual memoir is to set you free to follow your destiny, within the embrace of Holy Divinity.
It is said that modeling is the best teacher. I share my stories of what to do and what not to do on your way to becoming you, your ultimate gift to the divine. Exploring early signs of your character and discovering your calling are two critical requirements for fueling your fiery path. But there is help along the way through the many forms of personal spiritual experiences (PSEs).
Through the telling of my stories, I provide some ways the guidance has showed up for me. Sometimes I followed and sometimes I did not. It is a challenging and often daunting quest, but it is unique to each person. It is your special reason for being.
I am a retired psychologist and adjunct professor in a graduate seminary. I have researched and published about PSEs and taught a graduate level course for ten years. A PSE guided me to write this memoir.
It is my sincere hope it will be helpful on your way.

Genevieve Marshall is an award-winning author driven by curiosity, adventure, and a lifelong passion for exploring the world. A seasoned traveler, she spent decades discovering new cultures and destinations firsthand. When global travel paused in 2020, Marshall redirected her wanderlust online, virtually visiting cities, villages, and countries across the globe, uncovering places she had never encountered before.
That period of reflection inspired her to begin writing. At sixty years old, she published her first travel adventure book in 2022, followed by a second in the collection two years later. Both celebrate unexpected journeys and personal discovery.
In 2023, a simple question sparked her imagination, “What would someone write on a blank check?” The answers led to months of research, conversations, and creative immersion, culminating in her first novel, Blank Checks.
She currently lives in Arizona with her husband, where she continues to write stories shaped by travel, curiosity, and the many ways people dare to dream.

Heather C. Markham is the author of Rough Waters: From Surviving to Thriving with a Progressive Muscular Dystrophy, a candid and emotionally grounded memoir about diagnosis, identity loss, resilience, and rebuilding a life that is expansive rather than diminished.
An engineer by training, and after more than a decade of unexplained symptoms, Heather was diagnosed in her thirties with a muscular dystrophy. Heather pivoted to become a RESNA-Certified Assistive Technology Professional, accessibility specialist, and usability consultant examining whether spaces and technologies actually function for the people who rely on them. She assesses architecture, mobility equipment, and compliance standards and their systems, because she understands them from the inside.
Today she moves through the world as a full-time power wheelchair user. That shift did not narrow her life. It sharpened her lens. Heather is also a competitive Para Surfer and an internationally award-winning photographer whose work has been exhibited in galleries across Europe and the United States. (Yes, she photographs from her lap. No, that does not limit the impact.) Her accessibility advocacy, creative work, and writing all share the same ethic: see the unseen clearly, name things honestly, and refuse small narratives.
Through her company, Making Waves for Good, Heather works at the intersection of story and systems - challenging how we define ability, success, and participation. Her writing blends candor, vulnerability, dry humor, and lived experience, exploring autonomy, faith, grief, adaptation, stubborn hope, and quiet strength.
She lives in Clarkdale, Arizona with her husband and their cat, Dolly.

Jeffrey Jay Levin lives in Cottonwood, AZ, with his wife of 49 years. Jay, as his friends refer to him, and Alexis met in high school and have two wonderful daughters. He grew up in Rogers Park, a neighborhood of Chicago, and the place where his most recent book, A Safe Space, is centered.
Jay grew up loving to tell stories. He found delight when his closest friends, after listening to him answer a question posed by one of them, would pause and ask, “Wait, is that the truth or did you just make that up?” Eventually, he decided to see what he could do with actual writing, starting with screenplays and then novels. His beginning with screenplays explains why his novels often evoke a “This would make a great movie” response.
Asked by someone why he writes, he responded, “Because it’s fun. Otherwise I wouldn’t do it.” And that’s the crux of his writing. He explains: “My favorite thing is when the characters start to take over and go in directions I wouldn’t have thought of. Once they take over, I’m just along for the ride.” He hopes you enjoy the ride, as well.

Jim Banks re-edited and republished the autobiography of his grandfather, Sedona resident Harvey (H. H.) Nininger. In 1923, a brilliant fireball inspired Nininger, a small-town biology professor, to leave everything behind to search for meteorites across America. Facing financial ruin, scientific skepticism, and countless dead ends, Nininger built one of the world’s greatest meteorite collections, helped explain Arizona’s Meteor Crater, and played a pioneering role in establishing meteoritics as a modern science.
In Search of Falling Stars, H. H. Nininger’s Classic “Find a Falling Star” revisited and expanded, is much more than a book about meteorites: it is the remarkable story of one man’s lifelong pursuit of discovery, filled with adventure, scientific breakthroughs, and the perseverance required to blaze an entirely new trail. From a local angle, the book also explains how Sedona became home to a one-of-a-kind meteorite museum in the 1950s. Compiled from his original manuscripts, In Search of Falling Stars tells Nininger’s complete life story as he always wished it to be told.

Completing the transition from a career as a Naval Aviator to an ambitious business owner to a sculptor to an author, Lon Walters successfully unlocked a hibernating sense of humor. His passion for the creative arts included writing a weekly column, “Food for Thought,” for nine years. Four hundred articles later, he published two books, both distributed by Simon and Schuster: The Old West Baking Book, and Vegetarian Southwest.
He recently completed two comedic novels, which will be published shortly, Vacation of Bad Decisions and Sweet Compliance. Both follow a young couple who learn that a free vacation is not free of sinister results. Truly a fun read. His work as a writer also reflects his whimsical approach to life. It allows his mind an opportunity to hitch the work to a galloping imagination. Generally, that’s a good thing.

Lynnda Pollio is the author of Trusting the Currents, a multi-award-winning Amazon Bestseller in Inspirational Fiction, honored with thirteen literary awards and hundreds of enthusiastic reader reviews. Kirkus Reviews praised its “surprising power,” comparing it to the grandeur of The Color Purple and Beloved, while Publishers Weekly called it “gripping” and “lyrical.”
The novel began unexpectedly when Lynnda started hearing the voice of Addie Mae Aubrey, an elderly Southern Black woman from another time, who asked Lynnda to tell her story. What followed was a mysterious journey of listening and writing that became Trusting the Currents.
Lynnda’s lifelong fascination with consciousness and the mysteries of human existence led her from a career in advertising and communications to becoming the world’s first Chief Consciousness Officer at a global futurist marketing consultancy. Today, she is also a contemporary abstract artist creating Frequency Art, a visual language of color, form, and resonance that reaches beyond ordinary perception. Her work was recently exhibited at the Fine Art Museum of Sedona. Originally from New York City, she now lives in Sedona.

Marciana Ciresi, daughter of second generation Italian immigrants, chose during her Italian visits the slower trains, small village strolls, and meals in local restaurants on the side streets off the main squares.
After a family dinner -- nonni included -- with her former exchange student in Cordoba, one question haunted her: Why had tens of thousands of Italians left Italy and immigrated to Argentina? Why was their story untold in the history books read on three different continents? Ciresi sought the answers to these questions through years of primary source research until she discovered the answers and found a story that needed to be shared. Her latest book, Through a Cracked Lens, portrays the struggles and passions of a close-knit Italian family who emigrate post-WWII to Argentina to escape authoritarianism only to discover its growing menace in Argentina.
Marciana lives and writes in her studio on a beautiful Island in Puget Sound, Washington, surrounded by fellow writers and her extensive research library. She winters in the evocative red rocks of Sedona, where she is an avid hiker. Ms. Ciresi has tutored students from 3rd grade to adult learners on Creative Expression Through the Written Word. She is a long-standing advocate of social justice, as was her activist paternal grandmother Angeline. She volunteered as a phone counselor at Crisis Clinic in Seattle, and was an active citizen participant in civic matters, serving on foundations as a board member who believes that each person can make a difference.

P. Scott Camponeschi is a transplant from the Eastern United States, having traveled to Arizona to finish his studies. After receiving his certification to teach, Scott moved to Cottonwood and opened a gymnastics school, then later took a position at Clarkdale-Jerome School teaching first grade.
Scott’s fascination with spirituality, philosophy, and religion, a cornerstone of his training in New York, was something he continued to pursue in his spare time. After retiring from his teaching position in Arizona, he and his wife were hired to teach in Saudi Arabia. Living in the Middle East added another element of inspiration and awareness to his understanding of religion and how it impacts our lives in so many ways.
His idea to share what he had learned came from Carlos Castaneda’s account of his apprenticeship with a brujo/sorcerer he first met at a bus stop in Arizona. A lover of fiction, Scott felt that sharing such knowledge and wisdom in a novel would have a greater impact on readers. The courtship between Scott and his wife is weaved into the story, as Will and the young woman who tends the garden fall in love, adding in a nice touch of romance. Scott wrote off and on, finding time when he could. The push to finally finish Resurgence came after the death of his middle child, who struggled in vain with postpartum depression. This novel is dedicated to her memory.

Rose Weintraub is a writer whose work explores resilience, transformation, and the search for truth and meaning in our lives and relationships. Rose Weintraub is a writer whose work explores resilience, transformation, and the search for truth and meaning in our lives and relationships. A lifelong writer and avid reader, Rose spent more than 40 years in the nursing profession, a career that gave her an intimate understanding of the strength and vulnerability of the human spirit. Throughout those years, writing remained an important part of her life - a way to reflect, understand, and make sense of the experiences that shape us.
Her memoir, Open to Ideas, grew from one of the most profound turning points in her own life. Following the death of her husband Mickey, Rose found herself facing grief, uncertainty, and the challenge of creating a life she had never expected to live alone. Rather than allowing loss to define the rest of her story, she began an unexpected journey of healing, spiritual exploration, and self-discovery. By remaining open to new people, experiences, and possibilities, she gradually rediscovered hope and a renewed sense of purpose.
Rose brings that same curiosity and emotional honesty to her writing about relationships, personal growth, loss, and starting over. She is especially interested in the moments that challenge what we believe about ourselves and ultimately lead us towards greater self-awareness.
A passionate lifelong learner, Rose believes that our most difficult chapters do not have to be our final chapters. Her writing reflects a deeply held conviction that courage can emerge from loss, wisdom can grow from experience, and at any stage in life, transformation - and new beginnings - remain possible.

At 97 years young, Sakina Blue Star is a Wise Elder, Medicine Woman, author, artist, and longtime Sedona resident whose remarkable life has been devoted to spiritual wisdom, creativity, ceremony, and social justice. Her book, Little Dove: Lakota Ancestor, is based on the extraordinary family history of her great-grandmother, Little Dove, a Lakota girl whose village was destroyed and who was captured at an early age. Forced to adapt to the white world, Little Dove learned to survive while secretly preserving her Native American spiritual traditions. Her journey eventually took her from Lakota village life to a plantation near Greenwood, Mississippi, in the years surrounding the Civil War.
Blending family memoir, historical narrative, spiritual teachings, and messages Sakina received from Little Dove and her grandmother Sara, her book explores survival, courage, romance, humor, slavery and escape, the Civil War, and Native American wisdom. Her spiritual journey encompasses ceremony, reincarnation, sacred traditions, and the enduring presence of the ancestors. Sakina’s own life is equally remarkable. During the Civil Rights Movement, she participated in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s quest for equality, including events in Washington, D.C., Selma, and Boston. In the 1960s, she operated Boston’s legendary Turk’s Head coffeehouse, where blues musician Taj Mahal received an early regular performance opportunity. A Sedona resident since 1983, Sakina continues to share Native American wisdom teachings, blessing ceremonies, spiritual art, and stories from a lifetime devoted to honoring the sacred connections among people, spirit, and the Earth.
